Berglind Orradóttir
I graduated from the Texas A&M University in 2002 with M.S. degree in Rangeland Ecology and Management. My Thesis advisor was Dr. Steve Archer and major contribution also came from Dr. Ólafur Arnalds who served on my graduate committee together with Dr. Larry Wilding and Dr. Robert Knight. During my Master program I examined the influence of vegetation on soil frost dynamics, infiltration rate and surface stability in Icelandic rangelands characterized by Andisols.
Before going to graduate school, I worked at the Agricultural Research Institute in Iceland, in the Department of Agronomy. There I worked on several projects including, collection and comparison of legume species for land reclamation, under the direction of Dr. Áslaug Helgadóttir.
I graduated from the University of Iceland in 1993 with a B.S. degree in Biology. I did a small research project during my B.S. studies on sex ratio in Salix lanata L., under the supervision of Dr. Ása L. Aradóttir.
My research interests include how plant community and plant cover changes affect abiotic processes, specifically how vegetation influences hydrological processes, soil thermal dynamics and surface stability.
